1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. melted shortening
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix liquid ingredients in bowl; add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Drop with teaspoon into HOT oil. Turn when brown.

1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. hot water
1/8 lb. butter

Mix all ingredients together until creamy. (This glaze makes enough for a double batch of donuts.)
