FRUIT COBBLER
 

1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 lg. can peaches

Melt butter in 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk. Pour this mixture on butter. Add the fruit. Bake 5 minutes at 450 degrees, then reduce to 350 degrees and bake for 45 minutes more. A little water or juice of fruit may be added for a juicer cobbler.

Sour red cherries, berries, peaches or apple may be used, fresh or canned. If fruit is not real sweet, add up to 3/4 cup of sugar, sprinkled on top of mixture. Also, recipe is great using powdered or skim milk and butter.
