FRENCH COFFEE CAKE
 

1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 pt. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts (fine)
1 c. chocolate shots

Cream butter with sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add sour cream and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add slowly to batter while beating. Grease a 10 inch tube pan and sprinkle with chocolate shots and nuts. Pour half of batter into pan. Cover with another layer of chocolate shots and nuts. Add rest of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
