FRENCH BERRY PIE AND SHORTBREAD PIE
CRUST
 

1 (9") shortbread pie crust, baked
4 c. strawberries or blueberries
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 pt. whipping cream
6 tbsp. powdered sugar

Place 2 cups raw berries in cooled pie shell. In a saucepan, put 2 cups berries, sugar and water. Cook until berries are soft and then add cornstarch mixed in a little water. Cook until clear, stirring constantly. Pour over raw berries. Chill. Top with whipping cream and powdered sugar that have been whipped.

The amount of cornstarch depends on the juiciness of berries.
