1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. buttermilk
Vanilla flavoring
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. sifted flour

1 pkg. German chocolate bars, melted in 1/2 c. boiling water Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and mix. Add remaining ingredients except egg whites. Beat egg whites and fold in mixture. Bake in desired cake pan in 350 degrees for 1 hour. FILLING: 1 c. sugar
