GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE
 

2 sticks butter
4 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. buttermilk
Vanilla flavoring
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
Pinch of salt
1 pkg. German chocolate bars, melted in 1/2 c. boiling water

Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks and mix. Add remaining ingredients except egg whites. Beat egg whites and fold in mixture. Bake in desired cake pan in 350 degrees for 1 hour.

FILLING:

1 c. sugar
1 c. coconut
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 lg. can Pet milk

Combine ingredients in pan, stirring constantly.
