3 pkgs. (or 3 tsp.) dry yeast
1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. warm water
1 c. dry milk
8 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand 10 minutes. In large bowl blend dry ingredients until fine. Add liquid and mix well.
Knead 2-3 minutes on floured board. Roll out 1-inch thick. Cut for biscuits or roll into 2 Italian loaves. Put on greased pan and cover with wet towel. Let rise 45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
