FISH CAKES
 

1 can fish (salmon or mackeral)
1/2 c. oatmeal (uncooked, regular or 1/2 c. bread crumbs)
1 egg, slightly beaten

Empty can of fish into large bowl, remove bones. Add egg and oatmeal and bread crumbs. Mix well. If mixture is too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time, until it suits. Heat in frying pan, using 1/4" cooking oil. Cakes should be about 3", drop in heated oil and cook until brown and well done. (Mackeral fish may be used.) For additional quantity 2 eggs may be used.
