3-4 apples (McIntosh) peeled Boil peeled apples in small amount of water until soft. Drain apples and put in bottom of a casserole. Mix 1 cup Bisquick according to package directions. Put on top of apples and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees until Bisquick is lightly browned. LEMON SAUCE: 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. vinegar Bring ingredients to boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add 2 tablespoons lemon concentrate and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg. Pour sauce over warm apple shortcake. |
