2 c. sugar
3 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 box seedless raisins
2 c. chopped nuts
2 c. apple sauce
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla

1 box confectioner's sugar
1/2 lb. butter
3 tbsp. wine or coffee
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all dry ingredients well. Add raisins and nuts, mixing well. Add butter, apple sauce and vanilla. Mix well. Bake in greased round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees until done. For icing: cream butter, add coffee, vanilla and sugar.
