1/2 bushel tomatoes, peeled and mashed 3 lbs. chopped onions 4 hot peppers 2 c. Wesson oil 2 tbsp. basil 1 tbsp. oregano 1 1/2 c. sugar (or to taste) 5 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste Bring tomatoes to a boil and simmer for 3 hours. Add onions and peppers, Wesson oil, basil, oregano and sugar. Cook one hour. Add tomato paste and bring to a hard boil. Process in canner for 45 minutes at 10 pounds of pressure for 10 minutes. |
