1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. evaporated milk 1 tbsp. water 1 1/2 c. shelled walnuts 1 tsp. vanilla Put the sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan. Stir in evaporated milk diluted with water. Cook, stirring constantly, to the soft ball stage or 236 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Add nutmeats and vanilla. Stir until mixture can no longer be stirred. Turn out onto waxed paper and separate the nuts. Can be frozen. |
