STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE
 

1 Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
2 pts. fresh strawberries
1 pkg. strawberry powder glaze
1 sm. carton Cool Whip
1/2 c. applesauce

Bake cake as directed on package, substituting applesauce for oil in cake. Pour into two tiara pans. Bake as for regular round cake. Prepare strawberries and glaze, mix together. Refrigerate until cake is cooled. Place cake on flat serving dish. Spread strawberries on top. On one cake dot Cool Whip on top.

My family likes these cakes because I make one with Cool Whip and one without for those that don't like the Cool Whip. By using the applesauce in place of the oil, you are cutting the calories by 500, plus you have less fat in your cake.
