BAKED PEARS
 

1/4 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
4 lemon slices
1/4 tsp. ginger
4 fresh pears, cut in half, peeled and cored

Combine water and sugar and bring to a boil. Add lemon and ginger. Place pears in a baking dish. Pour syrup mixture over pears. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes or until tender. Turn once during baking period. Serve chilled for dessert or warm to accompany meat.
