2 lbs. filo 1 qt. plus 1 c. milk 1/4 lb. butter 1 c. Farina or cream of rice 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. cornstarch 5 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla SYRUP: 2 c. sugar 2 c. water Lemon slice Honey and water Boil milk, butter, cream of rice, sugar and cornstarch until thick. Remove from heat. Add eggs and vanilla. Return to heat and stir until thick. Cut filo into 3 sections. Add 1 tablespoon filling. Bring sides to center and roll. Bake and dip hot rolls into hot syrup. Serves 12. |
