6 oz. red Jello 2 c. boiling water 6 oz. green Jello 2 c. boiling water 1 1/2 env. Knox gelatin 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 c. sugar 8 oz. container sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 pt. heavy cream Use a 9 x 13 inch pan. FIRST LAYER: Dissolve red jello in 2 cups boiling water. Lightly oil or spray Pam in 9 x 13 inch pan. Make sure pan is flat and even (level for the refrigerator rack). Pour jello in pan and wait 2 hours to set firmly. SECOND LAYER: 1/2 cup cold water in small bowl. Sprinkle 1 1/2 envelopes Knox into water. Stir and let set. Take heavy cream and bring just to a boil on stove. Remove from heat. Add unflavored Knox, 1/2 cup sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Blend well. Set for 10 minutes. Pour on top of red jello mixture. Wait 2 hours. THIRD LAYER: Dissolve green jello in 2 cups boiling water. Let cool. Pour on top of white mixture. Let set. Also good as a light dessert. Nice for Christmas. For Easter substitute black raspberry and lemon jello. |
