1 box chocolate cake mix
1/2 - 2/3 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
Salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. flour

Preheat oven 350 degrees.

Cookies: Prepare one box of chocolate cake mix as directed on box. Add 1/2 - 2/3 cup flour to the mix - stir. Drop by tablespoon full onto greased/floured cookie sheet. Bake 5-7 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

WHOOPIE PIE FILLING:

Mix together:

2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk

Cook until thick but do not allow to boil. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Set aside.

Beat together:

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. sugar

Beat until creamy. Add vanilla and salt (dash).

Mix sugar mixture with the milk and flour mixture. Stir until smooth or beat on medium speed until fluffy.
