FAMOUS AMOS RAISIN-FILLED CHOCOLATE
CHIP COOKIES

2 c. (4 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. water
2 med. sized eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. raisins
1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Beat softened butter, brown and white sugars, vanilla, water and eggs in a large bowl with electric mixer until creamy and thoroughly blended. By hand stir in flour, baking soda and salt until well mixed. Stir in raisins and chocolate pieces.

Using teaspoon from measuring set, spoon dough by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Allow 1 to 1 1/2 inches between cookies for spreading. Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 8 minutes until cookies are nicely browned, depending on how crisp or well done you like them. Makes abut 6 dozen.

Encourage your cookies as they bake - talk to them and watch them closely. It might be necessary to turn the tray around if your oven bakes unevenly. Give your cookies love and they'll grow up to be very pretty and tasty. Good luck, and have a very brown day! -Famous Amos.
