4 sq. unsweetened chocolate 3/4 c. butter 2 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1 c. chopped pecans, optional Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwave bowl at high 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and pecans. Spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. (Do not overbake.) Cool. CARAMEL PECAN BROWNIES: Bake brownies as directed. In small bowl combine 30 caramels, 1 cup chopped pecans, 3 tablespoons butter and 3 tablespoons milk. Microwave on high 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until caramels are completely melted. Spread over hot brownies. Cool in pan. |
