24 saltine crackers, unsalted tops 2 sticks butter (1 c.) 1 c. light brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 c. chopped nuts Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line 9 x 13 inch pan with foil. Butter the foil. Arrange crackers right side up. Melt butter and sugar - boil 3 minutes; stirring. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over crackers and spread evenly. Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes. Sprinkle chips over top and when shiny and soft spread evenly and add nuts. When cool, cut into bars. |
