1 c. sifted flour
1 c. flaked coconut
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. clean corn syrup
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix flour and coconut; set aside. Combine sugar, syrup and butter in heavy saucepan; bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; gradually blend into flour mixture. Add vanilla.
Drop dough onto a foil covered cookie sheet by scant teaspoonfuls about 3 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Cool cookies 3-5 minutes on a rack until foil can be removed easily. Yield 40 dozen cookies.
