ANISE COOKIES

4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 c. Crisco
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. vanilla or anise

Mix all dry ingredients together, work in Crisco. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; work the dough by kneading it.

To make cinnamon cookies break off a piece of dough and roll it out with a rolling pin, spread butter (melted) onto the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon, start rolling the dough and close ends with fingertips.

Before baking cut into 1 1/2 to 2 inch slices, bake for approximately 15 minutes until done (oven temperature 350 degrees).

1. Roll dough in small balls, flatten top a little.

2. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, until bottoms are brown (tops don't usually look done).

3. After cookies are cool frost with any glaze or frosting you like.
