1/2 c. soft shortening 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 c. Carnation evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3 c. flour Pinch of salt 1 c. chocolate chips (more if you like) 1/2 c. nuts, chopped Mix well. Chill 2 hours or overnight. Bake at 375 to 400 degrees, 10 minutes (grease baking sheet). FROSTING: Melt 4 tablespoons butter until golden brown. Blend in 1 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in 1 or 2 tablespoons hot water until icing spreads smoothly. |
