CARAMEL TURTLE BROWNIES
 

1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk (2/3 c.)
1 Devils Food chocolate cake mix
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
6 tbsp. butter
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Pecan halves for garnish (optional)

Unwrap caramels and place in saucepan with 2 tablespoons evaporated milk. Melt and set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining milk, dry cake mix, melted butter and the nuts. Stir until well blended. Spread 1/2 of mixture in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan.

Mixture will form a thin a layer in pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Pour melted caramel on top of crust. Melt chocolate chips and pour on top of caramels. Pour the remaining brownie mixture on top and bake for 20 minutes. Do not over bake. Cut while warm but remove from pan when cool.
