1/2 c. soft butter 1/3 c. sifted confectioners' sugar 1 tbsp. water Red and green sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/4 c. sifted flour Dash of salt 1/2 c. chopped walnuts Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Stir in water and vanilla; add flour and salt. Mix well; stir in nuts. Shape into 1 inch balls. Roll in colored sugar. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in slow oven (300 degrees) about 20 minutes or until cookies are set but not brown. Cool slightly before removing from pan. Makes about 2 dozen cookies. |
