FLOUR & SALT CLAY

2 c. flour
2 c. salt
1/2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. powdered alum
1 tsp. cooking oil
Food coloring

Mix flour, salt and alum with hot water in a bowl. Add cooking oil and food coloring (if you want colored dough). Mix well. Use a little more water if clay is too stiff.

Model clay in shapes on wax paper. Allow to dry for several days. Drying can be speeded up by placing in a 250 degree oven for about 3 hours.

Wrap leftover dough in a plastic bag and store in refrigerator.
