ESTHER'S ALMOND FLAVORED POUND CAKE
 

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly, add eggs, one at a time. Beat at medium speed with electric mixer, 2 1/2 minutes. Add flavorings. Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Beat 3 1/2 minutes at medium speed. Do not over beat as cake will fall. Place in 10 inch cake pan (round). Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour 10 minutes.
