1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 4 lg. eggs 3 c. cake flour, sifted 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. milk Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) round cake pans. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir together flour and baking powder. Add alternately with vanilla and milk, beating at low speed until well combined. Do not overbeat. Pour into prepared pans and bake until golden and centers spring back when gently pressed, about 30 to 35 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in pans. Remove from pans and cool completely. |
