3 c. flour 3 c. sugar 1/2 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. shortening 2 sticks butter 6 eggs 1 1/4 c. sweet milk 3 tsp. vanilla Cream shortening and butter with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Blend well after each one. Sift all dry ingredients and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and cook in tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour 25 minutes. CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE FROSTING: 2 c. sugar 3 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 c. sweet milk 1 1/4 sticks butter Mix all together, let come to a rolling boil. Cook 1 minute. Take off heat. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread. |
