My mom has made me this cake every year since my 10th birthday. 3/4 c. sugar 6 egg yolks 7 1/2 tbsp. milk 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, milk, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Mix and pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round pans.
6 egg whites 1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Beat to stiff peaks. Put over batter and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool. Put cooked and cooled vanilla pudding between layers. This is the best cake and worth the effort.
