1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. molasses 1 c. hot water 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda Cream shortening and sugar; add beaten eggs and molasses. Sift dry ingredients together, add alternately with hot water to shortening mixture. Beat until smooth. Bake in 13 x 9 inch pan for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees. |
