1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 4 egg yolks 3 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 4 egg whites, beaten 1 tsp. lemon rind, grated 1 c. milk 1/2 tsp. lemon extract 1/4 tsp. almond extract Cream butter and sugar and beat well. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each yolk. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add dry ingredients into mixture alternately with milk. Add flavorings and lemon rind. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Bake for 45 minutes in 350 degree oven. Grease and flour pans lightly. Yield: 1 large tube pan or 2 bread loaf pans. |
