Crumble ladyfingers in a large dish.
Heat 2 cups water to mix any flavor Jello. (I use strawberry.) You may use the juice from the fruit cocktail and pineapple as part of the liquid finishing out with water. Pour Jello mixture over cake crumbs. Refrigerate to jell.
Pour 2 cans fruit cocktail and 1 can of pineapple tidbits over Jello mixture.
Make custard with the 2 boxes of vanilla pudding mix. Let set until cool and pour over Jello and fruit mixture.
Next day before serving whip cream; sweeten slightly (or use Dream Whip). Spoon over top of trifle. Garnish with chocolate sprinkles.
10 to 12 servings.
