1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract or 2 tsp. lemon extract
1 stick butter
3 c. plain flour
1 c. 7-Up

Mix as for other pound, pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. While cake is warm, mix together and pour this glaze over top.

GLAZE:

2 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 oz. 7-Up

Combine.
