ALMOND CAKE TORTE
 

1 c. ground almonds
1 c. bread crumbs (white)
6 egg yolks
6 egg whites, beaten separately
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder

Beat yolks; add 1 cup sugar. Stir cinnamon in almonds and baking powder in bread crumbs. Mix together. Stir in stiffly beaten egg whites, adding gradually.

Bake in 350 degree oven. Cool slightly and turn over on cake dish. When cold top all with whipped cream. Watch carefully as it does not take long to bake. Use 9 inch torte tin - one layer - grease well or 2 small tins with whipped cream layer between.

Serves 8.
