LEMON TEA CAKE SQUARES
 

Cream together 6 tablespoons butter with 1 cup sugar, then mix in - in the following order: 1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1 grated rind of 1 lemon

Pour batter into greased 13 x 9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Meantime, mix 2/3 cups sugar with juice of the 1 lemon. When cake has baked 25 minutes, pull out and spoon lemon-sugar mixture over the top and bake 5 minutes more. Cut while warm into small squares (tea size cakes).
