3 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening 4 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. almond flavoring 4 eggs 1 c. milk 1/2 c. almonds 1 c. maraschino cherries Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in almond flavoring and eggs, one at a time. Add milk alternately with flour mixture. Blend well then add almonds and cherries. Cook on large tube pan well greased and lightly floured. Cut through the batter with a knife to break the air bubbles. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes. |
