ORANGE CANDY CAKE
 

2 sticks butter
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour

Mix 1/2 cup flour with 1 can angel flake coconut, 1 bag orange slice candy, cut into small pieces (about 3/4 pound orange slices), 1 box dates, cut into small pieces (1 pound), 2 cups chopped pecans.

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Mix this alternately with flour to butter, sugar and eggs mixture. Now fold in fruit and nuts. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Dissolve 2 cups confectioners' sugar in 1 cup fresh orange juice and pour over cake. Cover immediately. Leave in pan at least 8 hours or overnight. Loosen from sides of pan with a knife. Remove from pan. It is ready to serve. I put Dream Whip on when I serve mine.
