SWEET ROLL OR COFFEE CAKE DOUGH
 

3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
3 1/2 - 3 3/4 c. flour

Mix in order given. Add flour last. Let rise until double. Roll for coffee cake or sweet rolls.

TOPPING FOR COFFEE CAKE:

1 pkg. lemon pudding (not instant)
1 2/3 c. water
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks, beaten
2 c. cottage cheese
2 egg whites, beaten

Boil pudding, water, sugar, egg yolks until thick. Add cottage cheese. Before putting on cake, add beaten egg whites to the pudding mix. Spread on cake and bake 325 to 350 degrees until done.

SWEET ROLL FILLING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. coconut
3 tbsp. butter

Mix together thoroughly and use for the filling for sweet rolls.
