BRUCE BUXTON'S CHOCOLATE SAUCE FOR ICE
CREAM

Hershey's chocolate syrup
Chunky peanut butter
Coffee Haagen Daz ice cream

Open the can of syrup and pour some in a small pan. Add about 1/3 as much peanut butter to the pan and place over high heat. There is a trick to this-- the object is to burn the syrup as you stir in the peanut butter, or at least scorch it some. Let the syrup bubble up in the pan, then snatch it off the burner. This will caramelize some of the sugar, and that adds an after taste you may find makes this superior to any chocolate sauce you have ever had. Pour this stuff over the ice cream; of course, you can omit the peanut butter, if you wish.
