ELIZABETH'S RUTABAGA WITH STREUSEL
TOPPING
 

1 lg. rutabaga (peeled and sliced)
1 tsp. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar (scant) mixed with a pinch of cinnamon
1 1/2 c. sliced apple (peeled)
1/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 to 3 tbsp. flour

Cook rutabaga in small amount of boiling water until tender and drain and mash adding butter. Toss sliced apples with brown sugar cinnamon mixture. Arrange alternate layers of mashed rutabaga and sliced apples in greased 2 quart casserole, beginning and ending with rutabaga. Mix together until crumbly flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar and 2 tablespoons butter. Sprinkle over top of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
