EUROPEAN BREAKFAST BREAD
 

5 lb. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1-2 1/2 c. milk
3 sticks butter
4 packets instant yeast
1 pkg. raisins

Melt butter in milk. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Make a hole in the flour and pour milk-yeast into it. Sprinkle over flour and set aside for 5 minutes to activate the yeast. Beat eggs with sugar and combine all the ingredients. Knead well. Let the dough rise twice, kneading back each time. Form into loaves and allow the loaves to rise. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

This is a very rich, cake-like bread which is best served at breakfast or as a snack. Any sort of fruit and nuts mix very well with this dough.
