1/2 c. lukewarm water 2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. shortening (Crisco, Spry, or lard)
Mix all ingredients; knead for 1 minute. Cover with damp towel for 20 minutes; divide into 6 portions. Roll in 8 inch circles; fry with no oil for soft shells or in oil for crisp shells.
