1 split smoked ham hock 4 cans Northern or navy beans or 2 pkg. dried beans, washed 2 med. onions, chopped Season salt Season pepper Celery seed 1 can tomato sauce Saute onion until golden brown. Combine beans, onion, ham hock and seasoning into crock pot. Cover with water. Add tomato sauce. Simmer until beans are done. Run 1/2 of the soup through blender and return it to crock pot. Wait 5 minutes and serve. |
