PRETZEL JELLO SALAD
 

2 1/2 c. pretzel pieces, cut sm.
3 tbsp. brown sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jello
Fresh or frozen strawberries
3/4 c. melted butter
4 oz. Cool Whip

Cook butter and brown sugar until sugar is melted. Add pretzels. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely. (Don't overcook - pretzels get hard). Beat cream cheese, Cool Whip and sugar until fluffy. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour and then layer over pretzel mixture.

Mix Jello with 2 cups hot water and ice cubes, until thick. Mix in strawberries and pour on top of cream cheese-pretzel mixture. You can use sugar free Jello. If you use fresh strawberries, you might want to add sugar to berries if they are tart.
