BOTTOM LAYER: 1 lg. box apricot Jello 2 c. hot water 2 c. cold water 1 can crushed pineapple, drain the juice and save 2 or more bananas 2 c. miniature marshmallows Prepare Jello. Let it set until it starts to jell. Then add bananas, marshmallows, pineapple. Put in refrigerator and chill until firm overnight. SECOND LAYER: 2 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 beaten egg 1/2 c. pineapple juice (that was saved) 1 tbsp. butter Mix all ingredients together, except the butter. Cook on medium heat, stirring often so that the custard does not stick. Cook until thick. Remove from stove and add 1 tablespoon butter and let cool. Then take: 1 pkg. Dream Whip, prepared as directed on pkg. Beat together until smooth. Then add the cool custard and mix well. Spread on Jello, sprinkle with ground or chopped nuts and refrigerate until firm. |
