GERMAN WINE RICE
 

1 c. long grain rice
1 1/4 c. sugar
5 c. cold water
1 1/2 c. wine (homemade or Mogan David, concord)
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. raisins
1" cinnamon stick

Combine ingredients and cook slowly until rice is soft.

Recipe comes from Otto Hartman but is German recipe used by both sides of the family.
