2 c. lukewarm water 1/3 c. oil 1 tbsp. salt 6 1/2 c. flour 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/2 c. sugar 2 beaten eggs Dissolve yeast and sugar in water. Add melted shortening and eggs. Beat well. Add flour and salt. Let rise 25 minutes or so. Roll out 1/2 of dough, it will be sticky. Dot with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Roll up. Cut in 1 inch slices. Let rise 15 minutes. Bake 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. CARAMEL TOPPING: 1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. light syrup 1/2 c. chopped nuts Heat mixture to boiling. Then pour in bottom of 9x13 pan before adding rolls. Topping makes enough for 1 pan of rolls. |
