BUTTERMILK CRACKLING CORN BREAD
 

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Have all ingredients at about 75 degrees. Sift, then measure:

Resift with: 1 1/2 tsp. double acting baking powder 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt

Add:

Combine and beat: 2 eggs 3-4 tbsp. melted butter or bacon fat

Stir the liquid into the dry ingredients with a few swift strokes. You may add:
