BUTTERFLAKE ROLLS
 

3-4 c. flour
1 c. hot water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 2 tbsp. warm water
1 egg
1/4 c. melted butter to brush dough with

Pour hot water over butter and sugar. Stir until batter is melted. Cool to lukewarm. Add dissolved yeast and 1 cup flour, beat until smooth. Add beaten egg, then enough flour to make soft dough.

Put in greased bowl and cover tightly. Let stand 1 hour. Place on floured surface and knead. Form into rolls or bread loaves. Let rise and bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
