HUMMUS
 

1 can (about 2 c.) chick peas, drained
1/4 c. TAHINI (sesame paste)
1/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cumin
Pepper to taste

Combine chick peas, tahini, water, oil and lemon juice in processor or blender and process until creamy. Add garlic and spices and process to blend. Add more lemon juice to taste. Scrape into storage container, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Traditionally, cut up pieces of Syrian bread are used to dip into this, however, cut up vegetables are good dippers, too.
